James Coghill 1969 – 2018

Club Cafe Paradou is a group of friends brought together by their love of cycling and the adventure our sport brings. We meet most saturday mornings for coffee, chat and overambitious planning at Cafe Paradou, Crystal Palace Parade in South London before heading out to the endless lanes and hills in Kent.

CCP was founded when club captain James Coghill and another founder member decided that they should get a bit fitter and rode some hefty mountain bikes a few miles. By 2011, upgraded in kit, gear and also augmented by other club members, regular rides began.

CCP is about many things – exploration, making new (cycling) friends, the appreciation of the heritage of our sport, of cycling style, beautiful bikes, of pushing ourselves beyond what we thought might be possible, learning to work with one another, but above all the experience of rushing through the air or of making it to the top of a beautiful climb.

The Club motto – Tomorrow We Ride – a favourite of the Club Captain – informs us of the wisdom of planning, of riding pretty much every day that you can, and about the excitement of future events.
